For your consideration is this First Edition copy of Colonel Richard Irving Dodge's, "Our Wild Indians", 1882. Subtitled, "Thirty-Three Years' Personal Experience Among the Red Men of the Great West. A Popular Account of Their Social Life, Religion, Habits, Customs, Exploits, Etc. With Thrilling Adventures and Experiences on the Great Plains and in the Mountains of our Wide Frontier." Dodge was the Aid-De-Camp to General William Tecumseh Sherman, who wrote an Introduction to the book. Illustrated with numerous engravings as well as six chromolithograph-color-prints. Bound in brown cloth; gilded, stamped title and decorations, plus blind stamping. Rough but apparently complete copy of this rare title. Old repairs to cracked binding, toned pages 650 pages; 6" x 9" x 1 7/8".
