Ottoman or Turkish Miqulet flintlock rifle circa 18th to 19th century showing beautiful gold inlaid Damascus barrel with silver mountings and striped select wood stock. The rifle measures 47 ½” overall with nearly 34” barrel of approximately 75 caliber. The lock is sheathed in silver and there is a makers mark just below the pan. The stock shows ornate silver inlays that are chiseled and cast in relief. There is one small plaque missing from the underbelly of the stock otherwise inlayscomplete. The butt of the rifle is capped in bone and shows some age cracks and small losses. A far better than average Turkish Miqulet that was made for a person of importance or out of a sultan’s armory.
