Wonderful exquisite and rare item.

WE offer a magnificent, heavy scribe's case from the Ottoman Empire. Given the range of that state the piece could have been made in the Middle East, Turkey or Northern Africa.

On one side is a bulbous form with a sea shell shaped lid used to contain the ink, and then in the length of the container opened by another top mounted on hinges is a place for the writuing reed.

On both sides there appears to be Arabic Script.
No bends, breaks or damage.

Quite unique.
