Nice group of documents. Otto Schulenburg was the president of the Leviathan Gold Mining Company in Montana. This collection contains a vast amount of correspondence and other ephemera related to Schulenburg's life and career. Schulenburg was the son of German immigrants who settled in St. Louis, Missouri. He later moved to San Diego where he owned a ranch. Finally, he moved to Montana where he became involved in the mining industry. He was president of the Leviathan Gold Mining Company until his mental state began to decline. His business partner, Charles Morris was appointed as his guardian. Schulenburg died in an insane asylum in 1908.
