<td width="100%">
Date of Creation: 1900-1949. Bronze Sculpture by artist Professor Otto Poertzel, 1876-1963, produced in the medium of chryselephantine. The sculpture is one of Tom der Reimer (Thomas the Rhymer). It measures 22" Tall, The Base is 16" x 8". The horse is 17" wide and 12" Tall. The Man is 10.25" Tall. It weighs approximately 30 lbs. This is a beautiful, romantic work of art, in the medium of bronze. The girls head, shoulders, arms and hands, and the head and hands of the youth, are extremely detailed. The faces are exquisitely carved and also with the greatest of detail. The lady is seated sidesaddle on a horse, and is looking down at a love-sick swain who has thrown his lyre on the ground. Her face, arms and hands (and his face and hands) are exquisitely carved white and perfectly blended in the bronze metal of which the statuette is made. The base is made of marble and adds to the weight of the statuette.
