Sculptor, painter and object artist, studied at the Stuttgart Art Academy between 1947 and 1954. In the 1960s development of the "Farbwege" (colour paths) as an artistic outdoor discipline linking the visual arts and architecture. Since then he has created numerous coloured wall paintings, wall reliefs, site-marking monuments and large functional sculptures as urban landmarks, in the sense of the spatial concept of "Kunst am Bau" (art and public building projects). In 1977 he completed a much-discussed artistic landscape used as urban recreation area in Adelaide, Australia and in 1991 his "Hommage à W. A. Mozart" for the Salzburg Festspielhaus (from: Dumonts Kunstlexikon des 20. Jahrhunderts, Cologne 2000)
