Letter to doctor and art collector Justin Upper Room. Dix, acknowledging receipt of food, and reporting on extremely difficult economic situation and the monetary reform. In part: “From the announcement of your packages arrived this week containing 1 on: Coffee, Sugar, Cakao, Dehydrated Tea, I thank you for that. I am glad that you have received the papers and that you like them. - From the packages from Denmark 3 units have been announced [.] 1 has been received before 4 weeks, the others seem to be stolen…Once I have photos of more recent pictures I will send you some. To reproduce it, you see more than long explanations. We are in Germany … the currency reform … is in trouble, the money being very tight and no one buys pictures. But I think that is also set up the back. But we come from a Desastre to another, and will soon be accustomed to.” In fine condition, with bisecting mailing folds, uniform light toning, and light show-through from text on either side.
