Title is Along the Canal. 26" by 34" unframed, 29" by 38" framed. Otto Beyer (1885 - 1962) was active/lived in Germany, Poland. Otto Beyer is known for Painting, landscape, suburbs, nudes and still lifes. Otto Beyer (1885-1962) Otto Beyer was born in the Upper Silesian town of Kattowitz, in today's Poland, in 1885. After his studies in Breslau and Kaliningrad, he moved to Berlin. In 1910, he participated in the exhibition of the 'Berliner Secession' and later joined the 'Free Secession' under the direction of Max Liebermann (1847-1935). He was close to the artists of 'Die Brücke', painting primarily landscapes, nude figures and flowers, as well as working as a graphic artist. During his residence at the Pomeranian coast, he met Corinth and Pechstein, who remarkably influenced Beyer's work. Beyer undertook study trips to Holland, South France and Italy and, besides Berlin, lived in Munich and Paris.
