Singer, known as the “King of Soul,” who died tragically in a plane crash at the age of 26; a month thereafter “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” was posthumously released and became his only number one single. DS, signed “Otis Redding, Jr,” one page, 8.5 x 14, September 12, 1963. Royalties agreement between Redding and East Publications Inc. In which Redding sells the rights to his song, ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way,’ with Redding receiving five cents per copy of piano copies fifty percent of the orchestration copies, mechanical reproductions, and performing fees. Agreement further states that Redding receives 50% of the money, with the other 50% going to writer Phil Walden. Neatly signed at the bottom in blue ballpoint by Redding, and also signed by Walden. In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold, light central vertical crease, one through a single letter of signature, and a uniform shade of mild toning. The song was released as a B-side of ‘Come to Me,’ from the album The Great Otis Redding Sings Soul Ballads.
