Oscar Hammerstein Signed Letter (1954) During the '40s and '50s, lyricist/librettist Oscar Hammerstein II and composer Richard Rodgers were the most successful composing team on Broadway, writing several long-running shows that were eventually made into movie musicals. One of the most prolific lyricists of the 20th century, Hammerstein was second only to Irving Berlin. This lot features a typed letter, dated January 4, 1954, from Hammerstein to writer/composer Frank Mandel, briefly mentioning Mandel's "May Wine." Signed at the bottom in blue ink, the letter is in Good condition with two lateral fold creases and a moderate amount of tanning. Included is the original envelope. With COA from PSA/DNA.
