This is a wonderful set of circa early 1900’s to 1920’s silver mounted spurs with five leaf clover rowels attributed to Oscar Crockett. Oscar Crockett, born in 1887 in Pecos City Texas, is considered one of the top three most recognized and collected spur makers of the last Century. This example shows a nice metal early construction with drop stationary stud spur strap buttons, being silver mounted with a floral design on one side, accented by the six section linear silver mounting showing a chased border on each extending to the neck of the drop shank which shows a rear facing spur and a nice length having the five-leaf-clover rowels. The spurs have a nice even original patina with rich chocolate brown metal coloring and brightened original silver mounted to one side of each spur as shown. The spurs are identified as being Crockett due to their early construction and use of the five-leaf-clover rowels, an attribute found sparingly on early spurs and documented as used on Crockett’s examples. Unmarked. Each spur measures 6.5”L by 4 5/8”W with 1 3/8” across rowels.
