Broderick Crawford's Best Actor Oscar from ''All The King's Men'', the 1949 drama that also won Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress. Crawford delivered his Academy Award-winning performance as Willie Stark, a politician who is gradually corrupted. Interestingly, Crawford was up against John Wayne for his role in ''Sands of Iwo Jima'' - Wayne had declined the role of Stark, which he felt was unpatriotic. Oscar statue is the iconic knight figure, standing upon a film reel and made of solid metal, mounted to a metal base. Affixed to the front of the base is a plaque engraved, ''Academy First Award / To / Broderick Crawford / For His Performance In / 'ALL THE KING's MEN'''. Statue measures 13.25'' in total height. Base diameter measures 5''. Weighs 6 pounds, 1 ounce. Heavy rubbing to finish of statue and base, and a subtle dent to the bottom rim of the base. Extra wear to the finish on statue's lip, nose and chest on the left side. In good condition.
