The lot is from the scarcely seen Osage Native American Indians and features a unique warrior weapon. The rare piece shows well preserved museum quality and believed to be from circa 1840-1960. The piece is a lance or spear and was also a long bow as there are remains from the string. This has a spontoon like forged iron blade that is 7.5" L x 7/8" W. The piece has the notched bow string area on the top and bottom with a sinew string. The center has a curved or bent hand hold wrapped in trade saddle leather. The piece has dark war painted or burnt stripes across the wood. Measures 53" L. From a private Missouri museum collection.
