TLS, one page, 6.5 x 5, personal letterhead, April 15, 1925. Letter to Mr. B. Russell Shaw of the National Aeronautic Association. In full: “The regulations for the Aviation Town and Country Club of Detroit Trophy seem satisfactory to me.” Beautifully matted and framed against a 22.5 x 18 reproduction photo of the first flight, along with a small swatch of fabric from the original Wright flyer, flown on December 17, 1903, to an overall size of 26 x 22. In fine condition. On October 9, 1925, Charles S. (Casey) Jones won the Aviation Town and Country Club of Detroit Trophy and a $2,500 prize at Mitchel Field, Long Island. The race, a light commercial speed and efficiency race of 100 miles, was conducted by the New York Chapter of the National Aeronautic Association of the United States.
