TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Mercury Theatre letterhead, August 6, 1941. Letter to Carrie Irene Burr, in full: “I am happy to add my autograph to your collection. Thank you so much for asking me.” In very good condition, with scattered creases, noticeable toning and show-through from large mounting remnants to reverse, and slight paper loss to the upper left corner tip. Welles’s Mercury Theatre was best known for its masterful series of radio shows, including the legendary broadcast of The War of the Worlds and, just one month after this letter, Citizen Kane.
