Oro Fino Gold & Silver Mining Co. controlled a mine in Chrysopolis, a former settlement in Tulare County, prior to its entry into Inyo County. Chrysopolis, which means "city of gold" in Greek, was founded in the 1860s as a mining camp, and had an operational post office from 1866-1867. The mine was located near Owens River, and this bond certificate is among the earliest known from Inyo County. Very fine condition, with fold creasing and slight tears along some of the creases. A rare, wonderful bond! -58819
