Ornately carved 19th century powderhorn from Mexico showing high-relief carved Mexican snake and eagle at center, and date “1816 September 1889” in Spanish. Letter engraved with Real Del Monte (Mountain Road). The horn measures 9-3/4” from tip to end. The wood plug shows some small losses and there is some slight damage to the horn. The spout plug is missing, condition is generally good overall. An attractive Mexican artifact. Est: $600 - $1,200
