Ornate single shot rifle signed Joseph Siegel in Salzburg showing fine quality deep relief engraving in Germanic tradition with multicolor gold inlaid accents and the stocks are fine quality relief carved and checkered. The rifle is chambered for the popular 8x15-46R Schutzen cartridge. The rifle measures 42” overall with 27” medium weight barrel mounted with tang sight and target type front sight along with double set triggers, horn trigger guard, fluted barrel, large oversize cheek piece, sling swivels and other quality features in the Germanic tradition including finished including trap for 2 cartridges in butt. The butt plate is also finely engraved to match. The engraving is a very high quality and ornate showing game scenes surrounded by deep cut scrolls and generous gold inlay. The condition is fine to near excellent with most of the original blue and French gray type case hardening. Just some slight beginning aging which is normal. The action is crisp and locks tight with bright bore. A very fine rifle by well-known maker in a premium arms making region. Est.: $5,000 -$10,000.
