Ornate silver mounted and silver stocked flintlock pistol of Baltic or Greek origin. The flintlock measures approximately 7 1/8” overall with 10” barrel of approximately .69 caliber. The lock and barrel are both signed in Greek style letters. The stock is covered with hand hammered sheath type silver in a floral and scroll design. The trigger guard and butt cap are heavy cast silver in a matched design. The inside of the trigger guard strap shows hallmarks or makers marks. The condition is very good with a light Brown patina on barrel and lock and some normal pitting and aging. The lock is in its original flintlock configuration and shows a roller on the frizzen and we would date this pistol to the early 19th century. A very showy and fine quality pistol made for a person of importance and wealth. Est.: $1,900-$3,800.
