Ornate engraved and cased double action pinfire revolver with ivory grips showing makers or agents label gold in embossed in lid “L. Loeven, Arquebusier, 69 Rue De, Rivoli 69, Paris”. The revolver measure 7 ¾” overall with 3 ¼” barrel and is in approximately 7.5 mm pinfire. The frame, cylinder and barrel are nicely and deeply scroll engraved and the metal surfaces are bright finished. There is a serial number 2354 of the right side of frame. The metal condition is goodwith some scattered light to moderate pitting and a few areas of slightly heavier pitting particularly on the back of one cylinder. The ivory grips are original to the period and fit perfectly and show proper age. The revolver iscontained within its original to the period fitted in blue velveteen lined case which remains in very good to near fine condition showing just slight fading and normal aging. The leather covered trunk style case shows tack decorationsand a working original key is also retained. Est.: $900-$1800
