This impressive Victorian secretary belonged to Congressman Sam Arentz, who acquired it from a Virginia City family and had it shipped to his Smith Valley home. After his use of the secretary, the piece moved on to the Rhodes family of Reno. This beautiful piece remained in the care and possession of the same Nevada family for 4 generations and 130 years before it was sold at auction in 2004. Arentz served from 1921-1922 and 1925-1932. Beautiful, professionally restored. Measures 3' 6.5" wide x 7' 3" tall, rich marbled maple. A classic secretary with 2 glass doors securing a bookcase above the roll top desk portion. Includes many drawers, cubbies, and other storage spaces. Also features hand cut gingerbread patterns typical of the Victorian era. A gorgeous piece fit for any Victorian or western collection. - Woodward Collection -60268
