Union officer and engineer (1832–1895) who participated in Sherman’s March to the Sea. He was also responsible for much of the early lighthouse construction on the Great Lakes. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Poe in uniform, signed below the image in black ink, “O. M. Poe, Bvt Brig Genl, U.S.A.” In fine condition, with a few trivial spots.
