Original pen and ink drawing signed Kemble, approx. 7-1/2” by 11”, showing two fallen men with judges and seconds after fighting a duel with pistols. Title written in pencil “Oh Lordy, I’m killed, I’m killed”. The man in the foreground is a black man. The cartoon addressed to Electro Light Engraving Co. and numbered 778 in the corner. Receipt from publisher described article as ‘hard trigger’ and the title. The artist E. W. Kimble, 1861 – 1933, illustrated many of the Uncle Remus stories. Also he illustrated Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Fin, Uncle Tom’s cabin, and Erving’s Knickerbocker History of New York.
