Original pair of cased Henry Deringer percussion pistols with accessories. The pistols measure approx. 7” overall with 3 1/4” barrels of approx. .45 cal., rifled with seven-grooved barrels. The pistols remain in very good condition showing a smooth brown patina finish on barrels with case hardened or satin locks going to grey with traces of their case hardening mixed in and just some light beginning erosion. The stocks are good to very good with some slight edge wear, normal aging and slight carry and a couple of small losses around the area of the tang but at least very good overall. The pair show proper “P” proofs and “Deringer” markings at the breech and at rear portions of the locks and all correct Deringer styling with engraved German silver mounts, pineapple finials and typical Deringer engraved side plates. Both pistols retain brass-tipped correct style ramrods and are in nice, untouched original condition. The pair are contained in their original-to-the-period purple velveteen-lined case which is slightly faded showing some minor fraying and impressions but is at least very good with correct nipple wrench, original correct mold, brass rod, American flask with traces of lacquer, screwdriver and both original compartment covers. The exterior of the box is covered with typical black Moroccan leather with some small cracks and slight losses at the edges but good to very good overall and absolutely the original case to this pair of correct Henry Deringers. With original DuPont inventory sheet stating purchase from Tom Wibberly, 4/15/1981. Est: $9,000 - $18,000
