Original oil painting on board signed lower left J.F Kernan probably intended for illustration of The Saturday Evening Post, Outdoor Life or other magazines. The painting measures approximately 30”x24”. Slightlydusty, discolored and needing cleaning. Known as the poor man’s Norman Rockwell he illustrated for forty (40) years in the Golden Age. He was born in 1878 and died in 1958. He studied at the Eric Pape School ofArt in Massachusetts and taught there for two (2) years. Also he was a professional baseball player.
