Original oil painting on board signed lower left C.M.R. for (Charles Marion Russell) with 1890 date measuring approximately 6” x 7”. Charles Marion Russell signed his work in many several ways and this is one of his early examples. We auctioned this painting more than a decade ago and was obtained by our consigner from Sotheby’s. There is an old sticker on the back of the painting indicating ownership by Northern Natural Gas Co. Collection and displayed by Joslyn Art museum in Omaha, Nebraska. The painting has been freshly cleaned by a professional and is in fine condition. Charlie Russell needs no introduction as he and Remington remain the two iconic Western artists of the late 19th to early 20th century. Keith and Lori Candee Collection. Est.: $25,000-$50,000.
