Original oil painting on board entitled "Fording the River", signed lower left Percy Van Eman Ivory, approx. 38-1/4” by 27-1/2” (artwork only) in old period carved frame. This underrated artist was born October 11th1883, studied at the Mark Hopkins institute and continued his education with Howard Pyle. He worked with W. H. D. Koerner and other great western illustrators. The painting has been recently conserved and cleaned and isbeautifully framed in a carved wood and gilt frame. Previously sold May 26th 2009, Lot 1237.
