Original oil painting of rams by Carl Rungius (1869-1959), approx. 30”h by 40”w (artwork only), in antique carved wood frame, probably the original. The painting needs slight cleaning but has no condition problems. Theframe shows a few marks and needs slight attention and small restorations to the gilt. Carl Rungius is the most sought after of American wildlife artists and many museums and collectors actively seek his works. Hewas a big game hunter and was inspired by the west. Theodore Roosevelt was an admirer and collector of his work, and the Glen Bow foundation maintained his studio as a museum. His works have fetched up to nearly$1,000,000 at auction.
