Original oil on canvas signed lower right by Albert L. Groll”, circa 1866-1952 and entitled “Arizona Desert”. The painting is in fine condition with no problems and is beautifully framed in a carved and giltedwood frame of the period. Groll studied at the Munich Academy and throughout Europe. He first went to Arizona in 1904 and met and worked with Lorenzo Hubble at his Ganado trading post. He won a gold medal for hispainting entitled “Arizona” at the Pennsylvania Art Academy in 1906. He traveled west often and is credited for introducing W.R. Leigh to the southwest. Groll & Leigh studied together in Munich andbrought western art to a higher level with their fine works. The surface of the painting is textured or roughed which is a technique favored by this artist. The painting measures 16” by 12”.Est.;$1,250-$2,500.

Buyer pays actual costs of packing, materials, shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
