Original oil on canvas signed lower left “E.S. Paxon” (Edgar Paxon) dated 1900. The painting measures 16 x 12 and portrays a prong horn antelope. There is an area of damage between the horns which we willprofessionally restore for buyer. Otherwise condition is very good. Edgar S. Paxon circa 1852-1919 was one of the western frontiers most famous artists who preceded Frederick Remington and Charles Russel arriving inMontana in 1877. He was known for his painting of Custer’s last battle on the Little Big Horn and his paintings hang in major museums and collections throughout the world. Est.; $5,000-$10,000.
