Original oil on canvas entitled “The Scout” by Frank E. Schoonover (1877 - 1972), signed F.E.S." Approx. 33” by 30”. Shows frontier scout with big Winchester rifle. Provenance: Kennedy Galleries New York. Fine condition needs slight cleaning ,minor nicks in frame. Frank Schoonover was a student of Howard Pyle and studied at the Drexel Institute and Chadd's Ford. His works are actively sought by art collectors and museums throughout the world and his depiction of "Patches" for Colt" Firearms is one of the most well-known cowboy artworks. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
