This original animation cel and drawing are from the Nickelodeon TV show SpongeBob Squarepants. The story takes place under the deep blue sea in Bikini Bottom, where SpongeBob resides. SpongeBob, who is a yellow, porous sponge, is your typical happy-go-lucky character, as he is always cheerful and enjoys making people laugh. Patrick Star, SpongeBob's neighbor who is a starfish, is your average children's show idiot, as he boasts knowing nothing and is often getting himself into ridiculous situations. Between the homes of these two lies the home of the miserable Squidward, a squid, who is known for being grouchy and playing tricks on SpongeBob and Patrick. Both SpongeBob and Squidward work at the Krusty Krab, a fast food business run by the greedy money-loving Mr. Krabs, a crab, the arch rival of the evil, possibly misunderstood, Plankton. Another neighbor, Sandy Cheeks, an athletic squirrel who normally wears an astronaut's space suit, was introduced in "Tea at the Treedome." She spends most of her time inventing and experimenting. Shown here is workman Patrick. This cel is an image of two best pals, Patrick and Squidward. * This cel is from the episode titled Scaredy Pants. Spongebob and his gang are going out for a round of 'good ol' trick-or-treating. A bonus drawing overlay of Spongebob in what appears to be a ghost costume. * Original Production Animated Cel and Drawing Original "rough" animation drawing, in black pencil, with notations in black and non-photo blue. Overall Size of Drawing: 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" Overall Size of Cel: 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" Very Good Condition This is an original hand-painted cel set-up used in the production of an episode of "SpongeBob SquarePants." Each one-of-a-kind set-up represents a slight change in position of the characters. When individually photographed and projected in rapid succession, the images appear to move. * To create production cels, the original animator's drawing is transferred onto an acetate cel (by hand-inking and/or photo copying). The cel is then hand-painted on the reverse side. * The cel and drawing are ready to be matted and framed. The animator's notations are at the bottom of the cel and top and bottom of the drawing. The cel is multi-layered, first is Spongebob, next is the fish in the Witch costume, followed by the fish dressed as a mummy, and then the fish wearing the pumpkin as a mask. All of the characters have paint fade to their outline and all of the cels are stuck together. *
