Offered in this lot we have a framed pen and ink artwork by Theodore Van Soelen and originating from the early 1900's. Theodore Van Soelen (1890-1964) is a American Artist based out of New Mexico and known for his depictions of ranches, as well as landscapes and portraits. The piece shows a ink and pen depiction of a saddled horse tethered to a fence. The background shows a hills raising in the distance and a fence corner around the back of the horse. The piece shows wonderful attention to detail. The piece is set into a custom wood frame with a white border around the art. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear on the frame. The frame measures 20 1/8" wide 16 7/8" with the art measuring 14" wide by 10 1/2" tall.
