Original State of Texas arrest warrant for El Paso County dated September 2, 1895, for defendant Victoriano Calderon accusing him of “unlawfully carrying a pistol” and served on him on the same day by legendary lawman W.J. TenEyck who worked for famous Texas Sheriff F.B. Simmons. The warrant is in excellent condition and is also marked with the seal of El Paso County; this period was one of the most violent times in El Paso where the likes of John Wesley Hardin, George Scarborough, Jeff Milton, John Selman, Martin Mroz and other gunmen and lawmen roamed the streets (Calderon likely wasn’t the only citizen at the time “carrying a pistol” for protection); a neat piece of old west history.
