This antique, late 19th century Oil Painting is on period stretched canvas and is fully Signed by Edward Percy Moran (1862-1935) the noted Philadelphia artist. Moran was well known for his Genre scenes of children and rural life in colonial and early America. The example offered here in this auction is one of the best by this artist.

Depicted three 18th century women, dressed in their Sunday best, enjoying their afternoon tea. This original Oil Painting is in exceptional condition and masterfully executed. Under a strong black light I found that the very edge of the right-hand side has been professionally and invisibly in-painted, from frame rub and one tiny paint-fleck that has been in-painted but that is all as there are no other problems or repairs. Sometime during the early 20th century this original Edward Percy Moran Genre Oil Painting was placed within a high quality, highly ornate, period style 36.5“ x 24.5“ gilded frame. This impressive Oil Painting is fully signed by the artist, has gorgeous overall eye appeal and is instantly ready to be hung prominently on display.
