From the Proctor Collection. Original Print ''Moonlight Sonato'' by Phil Paradise. measures approx. 40"L x 26"W. Artist was born in 1905 in Ontario, OR, died 1997. Noted for his landscapes, mural painting, art education and serigraphs. He worked in a regional style through the 1920's-'30's. After 1940 he both changed in style and subject matter, having moved to Mexico, Central America and Carribean countries. This particular print exhibits his change in style with nude native women riding horses along the beach. In the 1940's he set up a studio in the central California beach town of Cambria and this print is very evocative of that setting, giving a mid-century look to his work, almost monochromatic. This is 2 of 3 of the artist's working prints. The final edition was 83.
