Presented for sale in this lot is a original oil painting featuring a mother and daughter created by Jimmy Abeita. Jimmy Abeita was born in Crownpoint, NM, he grew up drawing on paper bags and scratching images on sandstone while he was tending his family's sheep. As a young man he moved to Gallup and Abeita was working as a draftsman. His boss recognized Jimmy's talent and helped him get a scholarship at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. The rest is history, Abeita went on to become one of the most famous and talented Native painters of modern times. Maker: Jimmy Abeita. Approx. Age: Vintage.
