Original Oil Painting on Gallery Canvas ready for Hanging without a Frame. Painting measures approx. 24"H x 12"W. This painting is from Judy's "Happy Bird Series", featuring the Gambel Quails of the Chiracahuan desert. This particular painting is called "Friends Forever". Three Happy Birds have found a friend in a wonderful green giraffe. They are perched up and around the neck of the giraffe, having fun sliding down the neck. The giraffe doesnt seem to mind. Beautiful colors enhance this oil painting.
Judy grew up in the "Bootheel" of New Mexico amid the Chicahuahuan desert. Her inspiration for her Happy Bird Series, comes from her adventures in the desert as a youth tracking, hiking, hunting and playing with her brother among the mesquite, sand & cactus. Together these two children from early age would amuse theirselves, chasing the animals of the desert and making friends with many of them. Early in the morning, Judy and brother John would start out on their trek in the desert sand with a bottle of water and their enthusiasm.
Judy is a self taught artist and has won numerous awards. She has shown and sold nationwide. She shows compassion, wisdon & humor in her painting. Above all she is has a charm and skill of mixing her colors with her imagination.
