Original Oil Aboriginal Meets Mimbreno ''Billabong Jack''- Judith Savarese, signed in lower right corner ''Savarese'', measures 16'' x 20'', this painting features the bright and bold palette indicative of her work, this is a new series of Judy's which is a marriage of Aboriginal and Mimbreno styles, this particular piece features a Mimbres style rabbit created by the Prehistoric Mimbres Indians of Southwest New Mexico, Artist Bio: Judy was born and raised in the ''Bootheel'' of New Mexico amid the Chihuahuan Desert. The Desert has been her inspiration in many of her paintings. The desolate alkali flats are home to many desert animals. Gambel's quail are one of her favorites to paint as they are survivors of the arid environment. The artist is self taught, has won numerous awards and has shown and sold in galleries in New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. This painting shows her influence from the bright colors of the southwest and the indigenous birds and animals of the desert and the designs of the ancients who were there hundreds of years ago.

*** The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, regardless of the time the bids were placed.
