Original Leech & Rigdon .36 caliber percussion Navy revolver, 7-1/2” barrel, grey patina finish, wood grips with flap holster, serial number “946”. The barrel shows “Leech & Rigdon CSA” stamping and left front bow of triggerguard shows large “N” stamped at top. Refer: Flayderman 10-011. The revolver remains in original good to very good condition showing some scattered light to moderate erosion and surface pitting, good edges, good markings, generally good overall. Very good original grips showing just some minor dings at bottom left grip, with a wavy grain to the wood. The wedge screw has been sheered long ago and one nipple missing, possibly the hammer rested in this slot for safety. The pistol shows all matching numbers including lever. The action is good, but not quite locking and off time. Interior good. Included with this confederate revolver is a commercially purchased high quality flap holster showing the initial “J” on the flap and single stitched edge and “VAH” carved on belt loop area. The holster is in good condition with normal scuffs, small losses, and opening at the tip. Provenance: Purchased by Charles DuPont from George Parezo (noted Washington DC area collector), 7/28/1944. With original DuPont inventory sheet. Est: $12,500 - $25,000
