He was a member of the Tewa and a resident of the Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico. The Pueblo clowns (sometimes called sacred clowns) are jesters or tricksters in the Kachina religion practiced by the Pueblo natives of the southwestern United States. This drawing is done with white pencil on black paper and is an original piece signed in the lower right corner. The drawing is professionally framed. The drawing is 5 1/2" X 3 ½” and is double matted in a black frame that measures 12" X 9". This piece is in very good condition.
