Original hand-drawn map of Poverty Bar, Calaveras County, California. This map shows the mining shafts, vineyards, orchards, roads, ditches, rivers, and various buildings in the town. Drawn by Anthony Anderson on September 2, 1892. Poverty Bar was settled as a gold mining town during the California Gold Rush. Today, the area is covered by the water of the Camanche Reservoir. This map is 12 x 18 inches. Good condition, some tears around the edges.
