From there he began hisstudies and graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. * After graduation from the American Academy , he apprenticed forseveral years at Magee Inc. a top illustration studio. He continuedhis career as an illustrator working at another Jack O'Grady studiosin Chicago. While working in illustration he became more engrossed inportrait painting. * By 1979, he decided to strike out on his own as a portrait painter. Many peopletook notice of his painting, and before long, he was approached by a consultant for the Knowles ChinaCompany. * Chambers had never heard of collector plates at that time, but hequickly became a design star, appearingon the cover of Plate World magazine and making appearances across thecountry. He is a Master Signature Member in a group of only 25 artists. * Although well known for his successes in the realm of collectorplates, Chambers is best known for his expertise as a portrait artist.
