Original Gerda Christoffersen Pastel Picture 1917-2012, measures 17.5''W x 23.5''L, slight damage to top of paper, will be rolled to ship, signed in lower left by artist, Artist Bio: in the early ''50's the ''Papoose'' pictures by Gerda Christoffersen were sold in Glacier National Park Gift Shop. The following information was taken from a label on the back of one of her pictures. Gerda Christoffersen, internationally know painter, was born in Denmark and has spent most of her life in Canada and the United States studying the culture of North American Indians and is now an authority on the subject. She has created the original style of the ''Papoose Paintings'' and is uninfluenced by any art trend or form. She painted the covers for the Maryknoll Magazine for 1956 representing twelve different of children of the world in her well known ''Papoose Style''.
