A wonderfully evocative image of two women in a boudoir - perfect for a bedroom, bathroom, or, yes, a boudoir!</em></td>

<tr>
<td width="100%">
An evocative and supine boudoir view of two women - the inscription at the bottom of the piece (which is signed in the stone by an unknown artist) reads: "Parfois la solitude est peuplee de gens d'une absence charmante" - which loosely translates to "Occasionally, solitude is populated by charming, absent presences..", and the dedication reads "Cordialement a l'ami Treba", or "Cordially (fondly), to my friend Trebla"...
Although there is no reason to believe it to be so, we feel that the "charming absence" which is referred to could be the lover who has just left the bed, leaving the woman in the bed recounting her experiences to her friend who is in the midst of putting on her stockings...
Beautifully colors and excellently framed, this piece would look lovely in any boudoir, bedroom or bathroom...
