Official FIFA 2002 World Cup participant final competition medal. South Korea and Japan were selected as hosts as the first (and so far the only) World Cup to be hosted by two countries. Brazil won the tournament for a record fifth time, beating Germany 2-0 in the final. This medal was bestowed upon Alejandro Lembo of the Uruguayan squad. Circular gilt medal was made by Bertoni in Italy and depicts the World Cup trophy in raised relief with ''FIFA / World Cup'' inscribed to trophy; reverse is inscribed, ''Participant Final Competition / 2002 / FIFA World Cup / Korea Japan''. Measures 2'' in diameter with a few very tiny specks of tarnishing. Housed in original Bertoni black case measuring 3.5'' x 3.5''. Near fine.
