Original Drawing Drafty Isn't It Animation Art 1957
Asleep in a drafty bedroom, young Ralph Phillips dreams of his future. He envisions becoming an astronaut, becoming a millionaire, and touring the world. But a large, black shadow, representing military service, looms over this dream of adulthood. To counter this bleak figure, a pixie-like army man, Willie N. List, enters Ralph's dream to depict military life in a favorable way. * It appears that Ralph is really contemplating his future plans. * * Original "rough" animation drawing, in purple with the notations in black, purple and red.Overall size is a 12-field drawing that is 10 1/2" × 12 1/2" Date: 6/3/1957 * Excellent condition Traditional animation is a multi-step process which includes various types of art techniques. Drawings are a key part of the process, in which the animator creates the design and movement of the characters. Drawings are then transferred onto acetate cels (by hand-inking and/or photo copying) to create a production cel, which is then hand painted on the back side, using paint colors chosen and approved by the creator of the series. * * The drawing is ready to be matted and framed.
