Under a cloud of increasing anti-mutant sentiment, Professor Xavier creates a haven at his Westchester mansion to train young mutants to use their powers for the benefit of humanity, and to prove mutants can be heroes. Xavier recruited Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, * Beast and Jean Grey calling them "X-Men" because they possessed the "x-gene", an ability normal humans lacked. Early issues introduced the team's arch enemy, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, who would later battle the X-Men for years. * * What now?!?!? * * * * * Original "rough" animation drawing, in non-photo blue, black pencil, and yellow. The notations are in black and non-photo blue there is a cut out area for his shadow * * * Overall size is a 12-field drawing that is 10 1/2" 12 1/2" * Excellent condition * Traditional animation is a multi-step process which includes various types of art techniques. Drawings are a key part of the process, in which the animator creates the design and movement of the characters. Drawings are then transferred onto acetate cels * (by hand-inking and/or photo copying) to create a production cel, which is then hand painted on the back side, using paint colors chosen and approved by the creator of the series. * * * This drawing is ready to framed and matted. The animator's notations are shown at the bottom and top of the drawing. Part of drawing (near Cyclops's feet) have been cut out. The drawing comes in a protective sleeve. * * * * *
