For your consideration is an Original Clemence Wescoupe, "Loon Dancing", Serigraph, Signed and dated 1979. Clemence Wescoupe (1951-2018) was a prominent Canadian painter and printmaker, of the Saulteaux Indian First Nation (a branch of the Ojibwe) born on the Long Plain First Nation Reserve, Manitoba, Canada. His subjects include Ojibwe legends and animal spirits such as the wolf, kingfisher, swan, thunderbird, and medicine turtle, as well as mother and child. Wescoupe was known for his signature graceful, flowing lines, and stylized forms and is a founding member of the Woodland School of Art. Many of his paintings and prints are in several museum collections including the Canadian Museum of History. This original serigraph is in very nice condition, the matted metal frame has a silver finish. Visible art measure 6"W x 9"L, frame is 11.25"W x 14.25"L x .75"D.
