Original Civil War Pen and Ink Illustration,
by John Douglas Woodward (1846-1924). Two drawings on a single 15.5 x 13.5 sheet, apparently done for Century Magazine. With Woodward's cartouche in the lower left. A Virginian by birth, Woodward studied in Richmond with E.V. Valentine, W.L. Shepard and J.A. Elder. He lived variously in Richmond and New York and is widely known for his illustration work.
With printer's intructions in two places on the recto, slight surface soil on blank page margins. Handstamp of the Art Deparment of the Century Co., New York, on verso.
